Class lists for the first week of school

Welchester's philosophy in creating Kindergarten class lists is less traditional than what you might experience in other grades.

Over the years we have found that to create balanced class lists that maximize opportunities for success, considering individual student's strengths and needs, we spend time mixing students in various groups over 4 days to allow time for students and teachers to get to know each other. Teachers then meet to develop class lists that is communicated to families to start on day 5. While unique, we have found it to be successful as students are able to build relationships with the whole Kinder team!

Collaboration

Mrs. Fish and Mr. Ritz work as a kindergarten team together.

  • Share students from day one
  • All lessons planned together
  • Believe in the whole child philosophy
  • Believe in positive reinforcement
  • Love what we do!
